Feast on your life!

10 Dec

Love After Love

The time will come
when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror
and each will smile at the other’s welcome,

and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you

all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,

the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.

— Derek Walcott

A very new dear friend (aren’t those precious words to be able to say, and a precious reality to reflect on?) gave me this poem – actually read it to me as part of the gift, AND as a punctuation mark in our experience in class.
We talked about my recent past as fertilizer for the experience of this Now. Of this choice. Of this time of education.  She gave me that analogy of my immediately past relationship being ‘fertilizer’. I suspect she also got (I CERTAINLY DO) that it was fertilizer as both fuel for growth and fecal product!!

I do love this poem. It means so much to my heart… and yet I know it will mean even more over time!
I can’t yet read it too often, for each time I read it I use up half a box of tissues.

    Hi there again …

Have a look at this – its’ from Abraham-Hicks.

If you will look upon this time as a refreshing new beginning whereby you will utilize your own creative ability, you will find yourself filled with excited anticipatory emotion rather than an emotion of dread or fear.

As you set forth, through the power of your thought, a picture of that which you would like to experience, you will begin atracting others who are in harmony with those thoughts. You all create from your current perspective, and ordinarily that perspective changes very slowly. But the events that are taking place upon your planet will jolt you into a new perspective, and many of the beliefs, and many of the habits, that have bound you to old perspective will no longer exist in your experience.

We encourage you to begin envisioning your life expereince as you would like it to be, and we encourage you to be sensitive to the way that you feel as you set these thoughts into motion, seeking always that positive emotion that indicates deliberate and positive creation.

The Law of Attraction will assist you, for as you think of that which you want, other thoughts will be attracted until you have completed the picture. And since your actions always follow the path of your dominant intentions, you will find yourself very busily readying yourself for the exciting time that is before you.

    With much love,

    Nina

Thank you for sharing the poem and your journey with me. The following spoke to me. Perhaps it will speak to you also.

In the universe there is an immeasurable, indescribable force which shamans call intent, and absolutely everything that exists in the entire cosmos is attached to intent by a connecting link.– Carlos Castaneda

The word intention connotes that the self is the initiator, who makes a deliberate choice to act on a creative impulse. It is linking this “intent” of ours to cosmic energy that leads to a birthing into the physical world — a manifestation.

Forming intent by directing your thoughts is the first step in transforming any dream into reality. The moment you commit and begin to creatively visualize what you really want in your life – it will manifest.

    Namaste

@Nina and Brightfeather… you both point to my deepest core beliefs about the power of Intention. Since reading “The Nature of Personal Reality”, in 1975 or so, it seems that ALL the most powerful realizations and readings I’ve done have all resonated around the truth that we are monumentally involved in co-creating what shows up as “our reality”.

What I have failed to do over the past 5 years or so, however, is to honor that belief with congruent action. I have not been spending time in the imaginal creative inner space attending to what calls to me, or to what I want to call forth.

I think perhaps it is time to invoke one of my favorite inner spaces to visit… the counsel fire, with the Grandmothers. Yes. It is time.

    NAMASTE to you both! {deeply bows}
